Pound-for-pound king Rep. Manny Pacquiao has chosen his next opponent. Pacquiao will battle undefeated fighter Timothy Bradley, the current WBO light welterweight champion. A large amount of damages to infrastructure in central Visayas caused by the magnitude 6.9 earthquake is estimated to have reached P265.75 million, according to the Public Information Division of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). Several roads and bridges in the provinces of Negros Oriental and Cebu were rendered impassable to motorists because of the earthquake. The following bridges along Dumaguete North road in Negros Oriental are declared impassable by the DPWH. In Cebu, residents who were living near the coastal area evacuated and went up to the highlands to make sure that they would not be reached by the waters in case the tsunami will happen. Some even did not go back to their houses even if the tsunami alert had been lifted. They still fear that the government will not be able to foresee it and that a real tsunami will happen. The Bureau of Customs (BoC) clerk who is facing physical injury and attempted murder charges finally surfaced on Tuesday and faced Customs chief Rufino “Ruffy” Biazon. Customs clerk Paulino Elevado, who is also facing a lifestyle check for driving a Porsche, had stopped reporting to work since his traffic altercation with a student last January 21. Elevado claimed that he does not own the vehicle and was simply acting as an agent for the sale of the luxury sports car. He said that after 20 years working at the Customs bureau, he still doesn't earn enough and has to augment his salary. Elevado declared a buy-and-sell car business in his statement of assets, liabilities and Net worth (SALN).
