The mayor of Carranglan town in Nueva Ecija, who was shot by gunmen over the weekend, passed away early Wednesday. Mayor Restituto Abad was rushed to Doctor's Hospital in Nueva Ecija after he and his driver was shot in Barangay Daranay, Guimba on Saturday. Abad was then transferred to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig where he passed away around 12:15 a.m., according to Sr. Insp. Herman Lising, chief of Carranglan police. The 54-year-old Abad was shot in his armpit and shoulder.
